To celebrate the exhibition’s opening, Giulio Cappellini, Art Director at Cappellini and son of Enrico Cappellini, Founder of the Italian design house Cappellini, visited the gallery for an exclusive talk on May 19. On the agenda: a presentation of the family-owned company, intimate stories and his vision of the future of design.
CAPPELLINI, A STORY OF AUDACITY
The Cappellini era began in 1946 when Enrico Cappellini became a furniture maker in Carouge, sparking the family’s undying passion for design. After three promising decades, the workshop was taken over in 1977 by his son Giulio Cappellini, whose avant-garde approach brought international renown to this exceptional firm.
Creating iconic and novel pieces, the Italian design house has preserved a unique blend of excellent craftsmanship and innovation, which it has placed in the hands of the world’s most creative designers. This fertile alliance of research, experimentation and bold esthetics have transformed the brand into a breeding ground for promising young talent.
