THE VEST ON SHOW AT PRINTEMPS

Until October 13, Printemps Haussmann's historic blue cupola houses the temporary exhibition “Vestologie”, dedicated to this garment whose variations have always followed the evolution of society, and which continues to represent, for designers, an infinite field of stylistic exploration. 

Following a 550m2 thematic trail, the “Vestologie” exhibition transcribes the rich social and cultural history of this garment, the foundation of the modern wardrobe, and plays with opposites. Eight sections contrast works or representations of fashion history with contemporary pieces. On loan from fashion houses, historical and vintage pieces from collectors, the ESMOD International study collection, Printemps archives, as well as photographic prints, videos, perfumes, samples, textiles, drawings, patterns and testimonials are presented, engaging all the senses.
